It seems that even writers are guilty of neglecting their website updates. So, I'm working out a new plan for 2016...
Since my life has taken on many new challenges in the past year, it is time to pull them all together for maximum marketing balance.
As you know upon graduation of London School of Journalism in 2005, I deserted the concept of journalism and went directly to writing children's books after inspiration from an 8-week journey through Africa; rhen on to my first novel, The Butterfly Clinic which was published in 2007; followed by my 2nd novel, Chapter Closed with 2012 publication date; and finally in 2013, my journalist nitch was uncovered.... music journaism.
One thing leads to another and before you know it, one interview with a musician friend and his band turns into an all obsessive profession that consumes more than half of my waking hours. (Hence, I ignored this writer's blog for an entire year! Yikes!) As those of you who follow me regularly know, the music journalism paved the way into creating my own music management company, which will celebrate 1-year anniversary May 15th. How it was possible to work out publishing a third novel, is a mystery to me as well, however, 'The Threes' will find its way into the reader's hands by July 2016. With a small booksigning tour planned, dates and locations will be announced soon. So, thank you to all who have kept following via Social Media... to those who only visit websites, I promise to do better at keeping this blog updated. xKat

Just for fun… here is the statistical overview for my journalist blog’s performance in 2014!
In 2014, there were just over 12,000 views!
(Countries with less than 100 views were not included in breakdown)
Page views by Country
United States 2587
United Kingdom 357
Author's Note: This statistical summary is in regard to musician interviews on my Freelance Journalist Blog!
Thank you so much for this overwhelming support. As I have mentioned in past posts, I have the ‘spam’ features set at a very high level, so the only people who view this blog are by invitation of other fans who have read the interviews. Perhaps this limits my audience, but I would rather have 12,000 views from actual music lovers, than 100,000 views from 'spam' generated search engines.
Also, the tracking feature is set to calculate statistics based on readers who stay engaged a minimum of 5-minutes. Also noteworthy, the monthly trend has been increasing on a steady basis with a minimum of 50 new ‘unique’ readers each month. Again, thank you.
It was fun to see the breakdown of viewers per country. Netherlands and USA were easy to explain since I am an American journalist living in The Netherlands, and for the most part interviewing Dutch bands, and international bands that have a large American fan base. Freedom To Glide would account for the UK; Gazpacho and Blodsmak for Norway; and Kristoffer Gildenlöw for Sweden. My best assumption for France and Germany is that they are large countries in Europe, who probably have a large fan base for the bands mentioned above. It was a real treat to see so many readers from Ukraine, Moldova and Russia; which I have to assume began reading the blog as result of Mich Rozak’s, Folk for the People, an online benefit concert to help victims in Ukraine. Curious what happens with 2015 statistics, since I have finally interviewed a few American bands. Thank you for your support! Keep sharing, as I believe music will heal this crazy messed up world, it is worth a try! Peace! K.

#3 Kristoffer Gildenlöw: Up Close and Personal (Part ... 368
#4 Lars Erik Asp: The Man Behind The Drums (Part One)... 345
#6 Kristoffer Gildenlöw: Up Close And Personal (Part ... 233
Keep in mind that statistics only calculated readers who remained on an interview 5-minutes or longer, in other words, people who took time to actually read the entire interview. An interesting thought based on the statistics: although the interview is ‘old news’ for the artist at this point, the interview is very ‘fresh news’ for hungry fans. Thank you for reading when it was posted, but please continue to share, share, and share!
Fun point of interest: Today I changed default settings back to tracking past 30-day views. ‘Spock’s Beard’ is now in the NUMBER ONE spot. Spock's Beard is my first American band...and they have a huge following world-wide. Very curious what happens to 2015 country statistics.
To see 2014 Country Statistics, please go to next post page above. Thanks again for your support. x Kat
Note: If you have enjoyed reading these interviews in 2014, please let me know who you would like me to interview in 2015. Leave a comment .

By chance or design, I have recently become acquainted with Robby Valentine. (Yes, the same Robby Valentine who is known world-wide for his 90's chart buster hit, 'Over and Over Again'.) It has been loads of fun working a behind the scenes with a few Dutch/English translation projects for the Robby Valentine website and social media pages.
Needless to say, I am so very excited to finally meet the music-maestro in person, this weekend; and what a special meeting it will be!
For all of us Queen fans, who are unable to attend the QUEEN CONVENTION in Prestatyn, Robby came up with a perfect solution:
The Queen Album- CD Release Party:
Where:- 'CAPSLOC' in Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands (Pelikaanweg 3 2903 ER)
When: Saturday-September 13, 2014
Time: 21:00 (Doors open at 20:30)
Robby will be joined by an amazingly talented line up for this show:
Robby Valentine (Keys, vocals, guitar- (Valentine Productions, Aniday)
Kristoffer Gildenlöw (Bass, vocals -(ex Pain of salvation, Dial))
Paul Coenradie (Guitar, vocals- (Aniday, Bert Heerink))
Andre Borgman (Drums)
Maria Catharina (Vocals-(Aniday and aka: Marlies Schuitemaker-Idols 2))
Curious which numbers were chosen for The Queen Album:
1. Bohemian Rhapsody
2. Crazy Little Thing Called Love
3. Save Me
4. Flick Of The Wrist
5. Lily Of The Valley
6. Don’t Stop Me Now
7. Killer Queen
8. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
9. Ogre Battle
10. All Dead, All Dead
12. Fat Bottomed Girls
14. Bicycle Race
16. Tie Your Mother Down
17. Dear Friends
18. Seven Seas Of Rhye
19. Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon
20. Under Pressure
21. Somebody To Love
22. We Will Rock You
23. We Are The Champions
24. God Save The Queen
Robby Valentine's 'Queen Tribute shows and cd's' are only a fraction of his many music endeavors. Check back in October for our interview!
Naturally, check back next week for my review of the show. I have been invited backstage for the 'Meet & Greet' party. Sooooo...Excited! K

Alek Dronik will debut their first cd, The Drone Resistance, this month with two live performances in Leiden. It is an honor to have been one of the first journalists to interview this band, and to be given this EXCLUSIVE ‘sneak preview’ of Sludge Saloon, a very intense track that you will certainly hear when you attend one of the gigs below. Since not everyone has a Facebook account, and at this moment, the only available story that exists about the character Alek Dronik is on Facebook, I have taken the liberty to copy the story directly from the band’s Facebook page. So, after you listen to the sneak preview, enjoy bonding with characters who make up the dystopian society where Alek Dronik resides. Click here for Alek Dronik's story!
Catch live performance of Alek Dronik in Leiden at:
Multipleks-sub071: Friday, September 12 at 9:00 pm (doors open at 8:00 pm)
